Ich bin zwar kein regelmäßiger Schachspieler, aber ich mag es ab und an mal. Auf dem Handy oder dem PC schadet eine Gedächnis-Trainings-Runde nicht. Ob man es glaubt oder nicht, aber ich finde die N64-Version unsympathisch. Das ist mein einziger Kritikpunkt. Statt der 3D-Grafik mit den Zug-Animationen, hätte man lieber schöne 2D/3D-Hintergründe mit hübscheren Statistiken integrieren können. Als Beispiel hätte mir der New York Central-Park gut gefallen. Dort gibt es ein paar Stein-Schachplatten für begeisterte Outdoor-Spieler. Es ist vom Regelwerk sauber umgesetzt, auch wenn die Gegner sehr hart und präzise agieren. Die Idee mit den historischen Matches ist auch passend und würde anderen Spielen wie Sportsimulationen gut stehen.
